ABOUT THE PANELISTS

Melody Biringer (CRAVEcompany). Self-avowed "start-up junkie," Melody has built companies that range from Biringer Farm, a family-run specialty food business to home furnishings to a fitness studio. Now she runs the CRAVEcompany, a network of companies designed to innovatively connect entrepreneurs who approach business in a fresh, new way with the stylish consumers they desire. Melody is a loyal community supporter, versed traveler and strong advocate for women-owned businesses. Melody's skills and business endeavors has earned her accolades in places like The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Lucky magazine, and The Puget Sound Business Journal's coveted "40 Under 40" list.

Dani Cone (Founder, Fuel Coffee & High 5 Pie). Dani has two great loves: coffee and pie. She attended Willamette University in Salem, Oregon, where she studied business economics. She opened her first of three Fuel locations in March 2005. As an aficionado of the café experience, she was the perfect person to author the book “Tall Skinny Bitter: Notes from the Center of Coffee Culture,” published by Sasquatch Books in April 2009. In 2008 she launched High 5 Pie, a wholesale business and retail pie cafe Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood, which has been featured on the Martha Stewart Show, New Day NW, the Food Network, Food & Wine Magazine, Bon Appetit, Sunset Magazine, and was voted Seattle Magazine’s 2011 Reader’s Pick Best Pie Shop.

Lara Feltin (Co-Founder, Biznik). As Co-Founder and CEO of Biznik, Lara Feltin has spent the last 7 years building the online community for indie businesses into an award-winning networking site that connects over 100,000 forward-thinking business people worldwide. In October 2008, Lara was named one of Seattle’s top 25 most innovative entrepreneurs by Seattle Business Monthly, and included in Seattle Magazine’s Power Players list of most influential people. In 2009 she was named among Seattle’s Top 100 Women in Technology by Techflash.

Rebecca Norlander (Venture Partner, Illuminate Ventures & Co-Founder/CTO, Health123). Rebecca joined Microsoft in 1991 as a developer. She spent 6 years in the Microsoft Information Worker business (office), 10 years in the Microsoft Windows Business engineering team, 2 years as the Technical Strategist for Ray Ozzie, and 1 in the Online Advertising Business. She left Microsoft in 2010, joined Illuminate Ventures where she continues as a part-time Venture Partner, and later co-founded a company in Seattle in 2011 called Health123, Inc with Rachel Lanham, which consumes most of her time and a lot of her love.

Out of the most recent 100 entrepreneurs who've joined Seattle Entrepreneurs, 32 of them have been women. So we think you deserve an event just for you women entrepreneurs out there. And who knows, if this is popular enough maybe we'll make it a regular thing!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
