Startup Bootcamp: A Case Study in Life Science Investment Banking

Startup Bootcamp kicks off at the annual Texas Life Science Forum, co-sponsored by BioHouston and the Rice Alliance. In an intense, 3-hour session, student attendees dig into a case study of a real Life Science Company and work in teams to propose solutions to presented challenges. At the end students walk away with a greater understanding of how to analyze life science from a business perspective. The case study will be reviewed under the close direction of life science investment expert Imran Alibhai. Registration is limited to 45 so be sure to register early.

Imran currently serves as the Vice President of the Texas BioAlliance. Formerly, Imran was an investment banker in Peter J. Solomon Company's Healthcare Advisory Group. He primarily focused on M&A transactions in science based markets including biopharmaceuticals, medical devices/diagnostics and life science tools. Previously, Imran was the Senior Director of Venture Operations for Alexandria Real Estate Equities, the largest publicly traded life sciences REIT. He was responsible for the firm’s investments in emerging companies and funds in the healthcare sector. Imran began his career as an associate at MPM Capital, one of the world's largest life science-dedicated venture investors, where he advised on investments for PIPE's and long/short positions in MPM's BioEquities hedge fund.

Imran holds a Ph.D. in Molecular Neuroscience from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School and a B.S. in Biology from Duke University. His peer-reviewed publications are in the fields of neuroscience and molecular biology.

I was very interested in this topic. Did not realize it was 3 h @ 1st, and I had a commitment @ 530 PM. Is this available on podcast or any other possible mechanism for viewing this weekend. I have the Life and Health Science meetings today and tomorrow. Thank you for this consideration.
