Spring Wildflower Walk with Potomac Conservancy

  • Apr 5, 2009 · 10:00 AM
  • River Center at Lockhouse 8

Spring flowers are blooming. Join wildflower expert Marijke Gate as we stroll along the towpath and explore the banks of the canal and river in search of Spring beauties, Virginia bluebells, Dutchman’s breeches and other common and unusual spring wildflowers. Learn how these plants interact with other organisms to form a wonderful and complex ecosystem. For more information about River Center events, contact Potomac Conservancy's River Center Coordinator, Bridget Chapin, at [masked] or[masked], x211, or go to About Potomac Conservancy Since 1993, the Potomac Conservancy has protected the health, beauty, and enjoyment of the Potomac River and its tributaries. Its conservation programs address the goals of improving water quality, protecting the river’s scenic integrity, enhancing recreational resources, and building an informed and engaged constituency, using a range of tools, including restoration, permanent protection, advocacy, and citizen education and engagement.
