Announcing a new Meetup for Washington DC Environment Meetup Group!

What: Canal Stewards Cleanup

When: Sunday, September 19,[masked]:00 AM

Where: River Center at Lockhouse 8, C&O Canal National Historical
7906 Riverside Ave
Cabin John, MD 20818
[masked], 209

The monthly Canal Stewards Cleanup at Lockhouse 8 is taking place this Sunday from 10 am - 12 noon. Help Potomac Conservancy clean up the land and shoreline surrounding the lockhouse and along the C&O Canal towpath. This monthly clean-up day is open to all ages, and is part of the Canal Steward Program, engaging volunteers in a long-term relationship in which they become the caretakers of a designated site within the C&O Canal National Historical Park.

No need to RSVP-- just show up wearing clothes that can get dirty and closed-toed shoes. We'll provide tools!

Unfortunately, I won't be there this weekend, but if you have any questions, contact Deanna Tricarico, who will be running the cleanup, at [address removed], or visit
