Celebrate Earth Hour @ The W

THE W CELEBRATES EARTH HOUR

Earth Hour is a global movement, headed by WWF www.wwf.org to raise awareness about environmental issues while promoting energy conservation. Every Year they encourage everyone to Turn off the Lights for an hour on this day to spread the word and make consumers more conscious so we can all engage in more eco-friendly actions in our daily lives.

For more information, please visit www.EarthHour.org

Unfortunatly, I'm fighting a cold so I will be at home with my candles, but I strongly encourage everyone to show up in the lobby of The W Hotel for this wonderful global event. The W may just be the place our local news will cover, in beautiful Downtown San Diego. Come early to Meetup with Ricki, she will be there at 8 & she wrote:, "Hope to see some of you there. Def come by and say Hi if you do make it :)"

Historical Tidbit: On March[masked], WWF-Australia inspired Sydney-siders to show their support for climate change action. More than 2.2 million individuals and 2,000 businesses turned their lights out for one hour in the first Earth Hour event.

RECAP: Earth Hour 2013 will mark the 7th year of the campaign TODAY @ 8:30-9:30 PM, so wherever you are you too can turn off your lights and enjoy the view live on Google Earth. *Should you decide to use your own candles ~ please use Earth-Friendly types like Soy or Bee Wax.

Sad all NO SHOWS here and especially Ricki. What happened? You suggested folks to attend & to look for you, but you were a NO SHOW. 4 folks attended from the Meetup group All Things San Diego. The place was filled with men and only one female attended (the one from Meetup).
