Kickoff to transform SD's Energy Future

What: Campaign kick off to transform San Diego's energy future. Meet San Diegans who are passionate about clean energy. Wine and hors d'oeuvres at the stunning Mangelsen Gallery. Great speakers and frank talk about climate solutions and how "Community Choice" is a critical part of shifting to 100% renewable energy. When: Wednesday, April 9th, 7pm Where: Mangelsen Art Gallery, 7916 Girard Ave, La Jolla, California 92037

More Info: Speakers, including Councilmember Marti Emerald and Nicole Capretz--former energy director for Interim Mayor Todd Gloria, will discuss how Community Choice is a critical part of the City's ambitious Climate Action Plan and how it can transform San Diego's energy supply to supply more renewable options. We’ll also be discussing next steps in this exciting effort, and opportunities for volunteers to get involved. Under Community Choice, San Diego has the option to buy energy from providers other than SDG&E and energy decisions are accountable to community members, rather than to SDG&E's shareholders. By increasing investment in local, renewable energy, Community Choice can dramatically lower San Diego's carbon footprint, provide local jobs and improve our economy. It has already worked in other parts of California and in states like Ohio, Vermont, and Massachusetts.
