Announcing a new event for San Diegans Who Care about the Environment!
What: Ideas Session to Help Protect the La Jolla Seals!
When: Saturday, September 22, 9:30 AM
Where: Click the link below to find out!
We have an opportunity here in San Diego that most people don't have. We have a chance to come close and observe over 200 seals living in their natural habitat. The "La Jolla Seals" of Casa Beach in La Jolla are a wonderful part of our community and are IN DANGER of losing their home!
A protective rope that used to protect the seals year round from harassment has now been taken down. Protection is crucial to the survival of these animals that need the beach to rest, molt, breed and nurse their young.
Let's meet up and think of ways that we can support a local group - The San Diego Animal Protection & Rescue League (APRL) - in their efforts to protect these amazing seals!
We will get together over coffee at a place around the corner from the seals and come up with ideas and suggestions for fundraising, raising awareness, getting volunteers to guard the seals, and getting media attention. Afterward, we'll go down and see if we can spot any of the seals!
I will then present our ideas to the APRL for their approval and input.
