Greetings! Spring is here and now is the time to hit the trail with the Sierra Club! An amazing variety of incredible wildflowers are in bloom in our local mountains, just waiting for you to pay them a visit. To just in time to get you in the mood for hiking, we have a fabulous photo show scheduled on Wednesday, May 12th: ?The Santa Monica Mountain?s, LA?s Best Idea!?
with James Kenney. Jim is famous for doing the photography for Milt McAuley?s classic, ?Wildflowers of the Santa Monica Mountains?.
The Angeles Chapter
of the Sierra Club has dozens of great outings scheduled for May and June, ranging from easy to strenuous, from the Santa Monica Mountains to the high Sierras! For those of you who are interested, we still need more outings leaders. Please consider taking part in an upcoming leadership training seminar
. Whatever your passion -- biking, climbing, hiking, photography, rafting, sailing, skiing, and much, much more ? the leadership training program is your gateway to connecting with and leading groups of folks who share your passion.
Lastly, as chair of the West LA Group of the Angeles Chapter, I would like to invite you to volunteer with the Sierra Club. The Sierra Club is America's oldest, largest, and most influential grassroots environmental organization. Whether your interest is in activism/conservation, outings, web design, political efforts, education & outreach, or public relations, we need your energy, ideas, and enthusiasm! If you would to volunteer, please use the WLA Volunteer Form
