May Meetup: Getting Started with Riak by Rusty Klophaus

A former member
Hi erlangers,

We have a great speaker for our May meeting on May 17th. Please RSVP here:

Talk details:

Getting Started with Riak

Basho thinks your database should never lead to downtime or overtime. That's why we built Riak. Riak is part of the "NoSQL" movement of non-relational datastores. It uses the power of Erlang to run across multiple servers and to stay running when faced with high load or hardware failure.
In this talk, I'll introduce the basic concepts behind Riak, demonstrate how to use the Erlang client to build a useful application on Riak, and touch briefly on advanced Riak topics.
About The Speaker

Rusty Klophaus is a Senior Software Engineer at Basho Technologies (). He has lived in Northern Virginia since 2003 (minus a year in Cambridge, MA), and has been coding Erlang since early 2008. When not thinking about distributed computing, Rusty spends his time organizing the Hacker News DC meetup (http://hackernewsdc.o...) and improving the Nitrogen Web Framework for Erlang (http://nitrogenprojec...). You can find him on Twitter as @rklophaus.

I hope to see you all on May 17th!
