Dear members,

You are all invited the the first Independence Day celebration for Venezuela!!!!

Come and meet new people, chat in English and/or Spanish and have fun! We encourage members to join us in wearing something that night with in any of the colours of the Venezuelan Flag (blue, yellow or red)!

A little background information:

April 19, 1810: Venezuela's Independence Day

Venezuelan Patriots Sign the Act of Independence, April 19, 1810

Venezuela actually celebrates two dates for independence: April 19, 1810 was the date that leading citizens of Caracas decided to rule themselves until such time as King Ferdinand (then a captive of the French) was restored to the Spanish throne. On July 5, 1811, Venezuela decided for a more definitive break, becoming the first Latin American nation to formally sever all ties with Spain.

We will start the night with a quick introduction and then straight into chatting in Spanish or English from 7:00pm - 9:00pm. We will have six tables labelled with levels of Spanish (beginners, intermediate and advanced/fluent) or English (beginners, intermediate and advanced/fluent). The organisers and assistants will be there to assist you. They are all native Spanish and/or English speakers who are very passionate about helping people practice their language skills. It is very casual, fun and relaxed! You choose the language and level you want to chat in. You can change between levels and languages (if you need a break!) and stay for a short time or the whole night! It's all up to you. If you are an English speaker but don't speak Spanish that is fine too. You can come and chat in English and meet new people.

Most importantly we are holding the night at a NEW VENUE - the Martin Place Bar! The bar is proud to announce that it has been awarded Australia’s Best Pub/Bistro for the third consecutive time in the Lifestyle Food 'I Love Food Awards'. It is situated just 2 minutes walk from Martin Place train station.
There are lots of beverage promotions which feature on a Thursday night. For example: Corona buckets - 4 bottles served on ice $20 from 4pm or Bellini's $5 all day

This will be a great opportunity to chat, meet new people and most importantly have fun!

So come along and join us for a night of fun. We really look forward to meeting you!

If you have any questions please email us through the website and we'll reply to you ASAP. Un fuerte abrazo ESI group organisers and assistants!

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
