Int'l Picnic at Bronte beach!

Hey Int'l Friends!

Get ready for more international friends events this year!

Ana and Lucy from the English-Spanish Integration group has invited International Friends to join them for a picnic on Sunday 20 Jan at Bronte beach so I thought it would be a really nice idea to organise the event together. I imagined that for most the beach would be preferred. Please update your attendance status if you need to. You don't need to be a spanish speaker to attend this event, open to all Int'l friends :-)

Please look up information for bus times for bus 378 to Bronte Beach at http://cityrail.info/

Please note: Find the coloured balloons most probably on the sand or grass area! Please bring a blanket and int'l food to share! You can also bring kites, games, umbrella's for the sun and show & tell objects. **If it is raining heavily we will have to cancel the event. Please check the website to see if it is cancelled on the day due to rain.**

Please read interesting and important details below provided by the ESI group:

Latino/Aussie BBQ/Food fair + chef cooking display + music + dance!

Dear members, We have a special event we would like to invite you all to. It will be our first and long time coming - Latino/Aussie food fair! We ask that each person brings along a traditional dish from their country that is already cooked e.g., It could be empanadas from Argentina, tapas from Spain, Ceviche from Peru, great Aussie salads and dishes etc. It can be anything you like. We will label it all and place it on the tables so everyone can learn about and taste different dishes from Spanish speaking countries and Australia.

We are excited as we have also invited another Meetup group to join us that day - "International friends in Sydney" run by Anna-Maria which will make the event multicultural and even more diverse, interesting and fun! They are also invited to bring along dishes from their countries so others can taste the wonderful food from around the world!

We also have a special guest - a local Australian chef Daniel who will do a cooking display for us all. For the cooking display choose one of the following and bring it along for yourself or the chef to cook; beef, chicken, sausages, seafood or vegetarian sausages/patties. For the cooking display Daniel will show/teach us some techniques and surprise recipes!!! After lunch we will put on some Latino music and have a dance! Note: Please feel free to bring along shade tents for extra protection from the sun. This will be a GREAT multicultural and delicious event, so come along and taste some great food, meet new people, practice your Spanish or English skills and most importantly ...

Have fun! We look forward to seeing you there!
