Ethics and the Theater- The Effect of Gamma Rays On Man-In-The-Moon Marigolds

Ethics and the Theater will present a reading present a play reading of the Pulitzer Prize-winning play, The Effect of Gamma Rays On Man-In-The-Moon Marigolds, by Paul Zindel.

Sorely disappointed in life – by her marriage, her family, most of all by herself – Beatrice lashes out at everyone around her, especially her two daughters. Ruth, pretty but unstable, wavers between rebellion and appeasement. Tillie, plain and pathologically shy, escapes the abuse at home by throwing herself into the science experiment of the title, proving that beauty can bloom from the most afflicted soil.
