I've been so looking forward to this night, so I am totally bummed that I am stricken with the flu! Much as I want to spend time with you all I know I will be feeling miserable, and I don't want to spread my yucky germs around. Have a fantastic evening and I really hope to meet you all soon.
Posted by Jess June 18, 2010 at 4:35 PMso sorry to say I will not be able to attend tonight's crafty festivities but wishing you all the bestest for a fab night and please let me know when the next occasion is happening.

Posted by Kass Hall June 18, 2010 at 1:35 PMOh such a bummer I won't be able to make it after all ... but hopefully there'll be one in the near future!
Posted by Nicole Davis June 18, 2010 at 1:12 PMSo looking forward to this. I am coming a little earlier and bringing some paper birds to hang up and gluten free biscuits. Yaay! :)
Posted by Rachel Fenning June 18, 2010 at 10:13 AMA quick reminder to bring a plate of something to share with you tonight! I'm super excited and just finishing up getting everything together for the soiree.
Posted by Magdalena Franco June 18, 2010 at 10:08 AMhello my lovelies. We have decided to keep the one venue instead of splitting us up. It might be a bit cosy but all the more fun! Please make sure that you check the updated information under the date and time info for exact details of what you need to bring on the night (a plate of something to share), what we'll be doing and how much projects will cost. Looking forward to meeting you all! Please also note there is limited street parking within the area, so car pool or tram it if you can!
Posted by Magdalena Franco June 17, 2010 at 8:51 AMsounds lovely! The opportunity to meet beautiful people whilst making beautiful things is very hard to pass up.
Posted by Sandy Vincent June 17, 2010 at 6:42 AMI am also looking to come along and socialise as well. Am totally happy to pay the very small amount of $2. If there is anything I can bring please let me know. Am very new to this whole experience so please let me know if I can bring supplies, food etc. Will defo bring some earl grey teabags!
Posted by Jessa McDonald June 16, 2010 at 11:05 PMHello! I can not make it :( But that frees up my spot for someone else who is keen! It is sounding amazing! You guys are ace for organising this, I MUST say! Huge props for your hard work. x
Posted by Pip Lincolne June 16, 2010 at 6:41 PMi'm happy to be part of the split to north melbourne (if such a split is happening) and can help out with both yarn and assistance with knitting/crochet.
Posted by kylie gusset June 16, 2010 at 6:33 PMHappy to pay the $2, ok if it goes up a little as well, looking forward to everything!
Posted by Nadine June 16, 2010 at 6:06 PMIm sure that no one will mind paying a $5 thats so cheap anyway !
Posted by Fiona Stewart June 16, 2010 at 5:39 PMscrap that - bring my own. Still happy to pay something :)
Posted by Kass Hall June 16, 2010 at 4:42 PMI'm happy to pay too, even to cover food/drink costs.
Posted by Kass Hall June 16, 2010 at 4:40 PMI'd also be happy to pay $5 :) for chatting and new skills that's cheap at half the price.
Posted by Kim Stark June 16, 2010 at 4:23 PMHi
Posted by Sasha Faint June 16, 2010 at 3:17 PM$2!! Bargain! I'm happy to pay $5, don't want you having to cover costs for the party, that wouldn't be any fun for you :-)
I am coming more for the social side as well but learning to crochet will be fun too.
Magdalena I would like to come but not bring things with me - for me I am interested in just chatting and meeting people. Perhaps people could indicate if they are coming to craft or just chat? Kass
Posted by Kass Hall June 16, 2010 at 2:50 PMSo you're all freaking me out a little... we've now exceeded our maximum capacity so the ladies at Thread Den and I are in discussions on next steps. In the meantime, because we have so many of you coming now, all projects on the night will be at a small cost of $2. I was initially supplying all materials from my own craft room when there were only 30 odd people attending, but I can't afford to supply materials for double that! Hope you don't mind the small cost per project.
Posted by Magdalena Franco June 16, 2010 at 2:28 PMI've just added myself to the list on the right through meetup. Is that enough to rsvp for Friday ? Would love to be there... Kristien de Jong
Posted by kristien de jong June 16, 2010 at 10:49 AMlovelies, as we have nearly reached 50 attendees, if you can no longer make it on the night, please remove yourself from the attendee list so that we can get a clear picture of how many of you are coming on the night and so that we can make room for others who might want to attend. Looking forward to Friday night!
Posted by Magdalena Franco June 16, 2010 at 10:32 AMlovelies, please check earlier comments for what to bring on the night as well as a link to the flyer which unfortunately can't be posted here. we're akso going to have to cap rsvp's at 50 otherwise we won't all fit! If anyone wants to bring some fun decorations to put up pls arrive at 7pm instead of 7.30 so we ca put them up in time. Feel free to also bring any fabric scraps with you to make some impromptu fun projects!
Posted by Magdalena Franco June 16, 2010 at 10:08 AMWould love to go!
Posted by Laura Van Dyk June 16, 2010 at 9:42 AMHow do we rsvp?
so what the plan for this event ? what to bring ? is there a schedule ? costs ? thngs to bring etc ?
Posted by Jelli Bat June 16, 2010 at 2:13 AMHow great to have such dedicated crafty people organising this! Is anyone travelling from Elwood/St Kilda and wanting to car pool? Or co-tram?
Posted by Freyja Tasci June 15, 2010 at 7:53 PMPlease check out: http://www.flickr.com/group...
for photos of the box of goodies we're getting from Etsy and the Melbourne flyer. There will be a variety of things you can do on the night including embroidery, an easy sewing project and silk screen printing. If you would like to try your hand at screen printing, please bring something with you to screen print onto! All other supplies will be provided on the night so that you can make something to take home! Super excited!
Posted by Magdalena Franco June 15, 2010 at 9:52 AMWhat should we bring in the way of crafty stuff?
Posted by Tracy June 14, 2010 at 3:13 PMReally looking forward to it!
Posted by Sasha Faint June 13, 2010 at 11:26 PMwe'll still be there Arantza. I'm sure people will be leaving at different times, but once we get into it, the time will fly and before you know it, it'll be 10pm!
Posted by Magdalena Franco June 12, 2010 at 2:14 PMThis sounds really good! do you know how long is gonna take? I will be working, so I can´t arrive before 9:00 :((
Posted by Arantza June 12, 2010 at 1:08 PMIf each person can bring a plate or bowl of something to share or nibble on that would be great. Everything else will be supplied, but also feel free to BYO bottle of something should you feel the urge.
Posted by Magdalena Franco June 10, 2010 at 9:12 PMIt's so exciting, do we need to bring anything along?
Posted by Nadine June 9, 2010 at 10:56 PMGreat news lovelies. We've made it into the top 50 etsy parties globally, so we'll be receiving a box choc-full of goodies for us to play with on the night! Congrats!
Posted by Magdalena Franco June 9, 2010 at 10:53 AMFantastic! Thanks for organizing the location Mag :)
Posted by Candy Ng June 4, 2010 at 8:09 PMLocation confirmed! The lovely ladies from Thread Den are kindly allowing us to use their fabulous studio on Fitzroy for the Etsy Craft Party. And they'll also be joining us for lots of crat fun. Also the Melbourne event is currently within the top 50 Etsy Craft Parties being held globally so we should be receiving a bunch of goodies for the night if we maintain the position within top 50! More details to come shortly
Posted by Magdalena Franco June 4, 2010 at 10:59 AMMagdelena, thank you so much. Please let me know what I can contribute to make this craft party fabulous!
Posted by Jess June 4, 2010 at 9:36 AMJust a quick update my lovelies. I've commenced discussions with Thread Den in Fitzroy about hosting us (they have another premise in North Melb, but I figured Fitzroy was a little more central). I will update you all as soon as I have some news.
Posted by Magdalena Franco June 3, 2010 at 10:25 PMsounding good :)
Posted by Amanda Loschiavo June 3, 2010 at 7:42 PMGood idea about Thread Den. They were on my list too!
Posted by Magdalena Franco June 3, 2010 at 1:29 PMWhat about asking Thread Den in North Melbourne if they would be willing to host us?
Posted by elleda June 3, 2010 at 1:24 PMhttp://threadden.com.au/
I'm holding an Etsy part on the Mornington Peninsula. If there's anyone who can't make it into the city, feel free to pop by:
http://www.meetup.com/Etsy-...
I'm running it on the 19th instead as it's the weekend.
Posted by Mel Norris June 2, 2010 at 8:50 PMI'm up for it! A 7pm start would be great and somewhere close to the city and public transport would be ideal. Anyone know a quiet bar/late night cafe we could hang out?
Posted by Shelly Andrews June 2, 2010 at 1:30 PMDo we want to make something in particular? Yarn Bomb? Share skills?
See you all then!
Yes, two weeks to go! It would be fantastic if we could make this event happen! Shall we set the location? And are everyone thinking of 8PM? We could get it start an hour earlier. We should get this conversation started otherwise nothing will happen, really. Please do share your thoughts people :)
Posted by Candy Ng June 2, 2010 at 12:43 PMI'm so glad someone has organised something in Melbourne! I am so keen to broaden my craft knowledge base and share what I know with others. Please let me know how I can help make this event amazing!
