Euchre Meetup #2 @ Stoney's

Hello DC Euchre Players,

Changing it up some and hosting two in a row at Stoney's!

We'll be playing on Thursday, 8/28 at Stoney's Bar and Grill (on P Street, NW between 14th & 15th).

Stoney's is across the street from Whole Foods.  There's 2 hour street parking in the area, main bus lines are 11th, 14th, and 16th Streets.  Metro stops are walkable but a distance away.  I believe Shaw/Howard is the nearest metro station(green/yellow).  Also, I think there's a bus from Dupont (red line) that runs along P Street?

As always, if you RSVP "yes", only to find later that you can't make it, please change your RSVP to "no".

Looking forward to playing a few hands of euchre! If you have questions, comments, suggestions, please email me.

Cheers,
Amanda

P.S. We ask attendees to bring $1 to help maintain our meetup membership. Thank you all for your understanding!

    Hi Euchre Folks,
The upstairs is open to the public tonight, therefore, we DO NOT have the entire upstairs the way we have in the past. This is the reason I set limits on attendance. As we all know people tend to add/drop right up until the meetup starts. Therefore, with the caveat that people realize they may be sitting out waiting to rotate in longer than expected and/or it's going to be crowded I encourage whoever wants to come to do so. We'll be upstairs in the side room. Please note we're slotted to play from 6:30 to 9:30 pm. Thanks and see you tonight!

My wife and I will be there, come what may. There are almost always some drop-outs; last week there were 33 yesses at one point and the final yes count was 25. My wife is pretty much a beginner, so she may just want to watch for the first game or two.

Sorry bad math skills lol it's two over but if Greg and his plus one come also we are even is that to many people we didn't use the whole area last week.

It says 25 going but isn't that an uneven number? Is it ok to come anyway?

The meetup starts at 6:30. Generally, two-hour parking ends at 8:30. So you pay for two hours and then you don't worry about it. I drove last time and it wasn't A problem.

This will be my first meet up with the group. I will need to drive there. If the meet up is 3 hours, but parking is only 2-hour parking, I suppose I'll need to leave early. My experience with DC parking is that they will ticket after the initial 2 hours, even if you add money to the meter. Is leaving early going to be a problem? Or for someone who needs to drive, are there other reasonably priced parking options nearby?

People come and go throughout the night, therefore you're welcome to attend for however long works for you. There's a parking garage across the street connected to Whole Foods, however, I don't know what the rules are.

Great.... thanks. I wasn't sure if this Euchre meet up was a come and go or if you played with the same team all the time. Thanks for letting me know about the meeting and the parking! Looking forward to it!

The G2 runs along P Street between Georgetown and Howard Universities, but it's not very frequent. From Dupont Metro, unless you check online or check the bus stop for departure times, you might be quicker walking the half-mile.

Not that this is any more helpful, but the same applies from Shaw-Howard station. It's easier to walk the .7 miles to P & 14th, than wait for a bus. I live right by the station and I just flat-foot it when I've gotta go to Whole Foods.

Amanda I thought this was this week? I thought you said that to me after last night that it was twice in one week then not til after Labor Day. Maybe I misunderstood guess it is next week. I will check my schedule definitely could make this week.

My apologies for any confusion. I mentioned that we were having meetups in back to back weeks when we typically host them every other week.

No problem I knew I misunderstood after I saw the meetup calendar. See you all next week I hope! I have to check my schedule tonight.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
