Thriller Dance Practice

Thursdays starting August 14 at the Downtown Athletic club

7-8pm New Thriller dancers (slow, step by step instruction)

8-9pm Faster paced review of the entire dance

7-8 pm new Thriller Dancers will be taught all the basics of the 6 minute version of Michael Jackson's Thriller. The dance will be broken down into sections. We teach Thriller using methods developed by the creator of "Thrill The World" Basically you will learn an action word for every sequence in the dance that helps you remember the steps. Sections are repeated so learning a few basic sections and putting them in order is the goal. Anyone is welcome that wants detailed review. New Thriller dancers are also welcome to join the 8-9 pm class when you feel ready and want to  review  the entire dance at a much faster pace.

8-9pm class is for people who danced it in 2012 and 2013 and the pace will be faster with the entire dance reviewed . This year we will try to put more creativity into the presentation of the whole routine.

The teachers are Margo Jennings, Sandy Caughron, Dan Stephens, Gwen Gibbons and John Gibbons.

No dance experience required. DAC membership not required. If you are not a DAC member, please come EARLY the first day as they will have you fill out a form or two for a temporary ID. Further registration for Thrill The World and Waiver forms will be explained in class.

The environment heats up quickly; this dance is a great workout. Wear comfortable  clothes and bring a water bottle if you like :)

Hello dancers! Which website do you suggest to watch and practice with? I have missed 3 weeks now and want to review online if possible. Thanks!

It's on YouTube. The whole dance is gone over in the 40th clip.

If you go to Thrill The World Global and click on "learn the dance" you will see the main videos that break down the dance. Don't worry...lots of new people still signing up; practicing with on line videos is a real boost to learning though.

Hey Laurie, looks like I can't come and that kinda blows it for the performance. I have bursitis and won't be able to flap my arms around. When are you performing and where?
