Weekly Virtues Class for Children--Saturdays at 3 pm

Yazamaidis (map)

Selected By: Glen Fullmer

For all children ages 3 to 11.

The class is based on the fundamental concept that each child is a unique creation of God, a spiritual and noble being, endowed with virtues. As parents, we must develop and strengthen the virtues in our children to develop a culture of moral excellence in our homes, schools and communities.

Some of the virtues that we (teachers, parents and children) together will discover and develop are:

Compassion Cooperation Courage Discipline Determination Excellence

Forgiveness Generosity Gentleness Helpfulness Honesty Joyfulness

Kindness Love Orderliness Patience Peacefulness Purity

Respect Responsibility Thankfulness Tolerance Truthfulness Unity

Our children will discover that “the root of human happiness is founded on spiritual behavior.”

During each class, the children will learn one of these virtues through games, art, stories, skits and songs, and how to apply the virtues to their everyday lives. We will learn stories and prayers from Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Hindu, Buddhist, Baha'i and other sacred scriptues. The goal is for the children to grow up as moral champions, dedicated to the betterment of themselves and the world.
