The Critique Group

Welcome to the Evanston Writers Workshop Critique Group.  One of two foundational programs of EWW, the Critique Group is a group of professional and aspiring writers who help each other polish their writing.  Through workshop-style critique, writers have the opportunity to receive direct feedback from attentive readers who understand the craft of writing.  For more information, as well as submission guidelines and requirements, please visit our "About Us" page, here.

Friendly reminder:  please have your submissions uploaded by the Friday (midnight) before the meeting.

Three interesting works that it was a pleasure to read, effective critique and good-natured banter all combined to create, if not an evening to remember for all time, an enjoyable and fruitful meeting of our EWW.

Thank you for the opportunity to sit in on your group tomorrow night. It will be my first time sitting in on this type of meeting.

I have always had an interest in writing, beginning in fourth grade when all I wanted was a typewriter for a Christmas gift so that I might type my stories. Although many years have passed since 4th grade, I remain interested in writing. That is not to say I am especially good at it, but mature enough to be receptive to suggestion.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
