Please relate to us a little about your past religious experience.

As I was born and raised in Brazil, a big catholic/christian country, and being born to a catholic family, I grew up as a catholic and went over all of the stages required by catholicism; baptism and so on. I also studied basically all my life in a catholic school, where I had many nuns as my teachers and mentors. Around 14 or 15 years old, I started wondering about what the bible said and felt like there was little or no truth to it. I spent some 3 or 4 years wondering around and researching about others religions until I realized that none of them had any answers nor were being very truthful to me. At the age of 18, I finally realized I was an atheist and a free-thinker.

My name is Rafael, I'm 25 years old and currently taking a Master's Degree in Teaching English as a Second/Foreign Language at Simon Fraser University.
