Hi Heidi! No I didn't grow up LDS. I was a convert at 18. I started to seriously question my beliefs when I was 45 and quit attending the LDS church at that time. I had a couple of friends that were praying for me, and witnessing to me on a pretty regular basis. Through conversations with them, and my own personal study and pleading with God, I came to know the truth and now have a personal relationship with my LORD and Savior Jesus Christ. Longer version is posted on mormoninfo.org.
Did you send this out to everyone or did you know that I used to be involved with Ed Decker?
Thanks for the link. As Christianity is just a hybrid Greek-Hebrew religion invented by Paul which evolved into a dominant cultural force in Western Europe, Christianity seems like really important fall-back position from Mormonism. But Mormonism actually started as an improvement/update of Christianity, which even people in the 1830s knew was flawed. Since the 1830s, humanity now has attained a Scientific world view which now informs and enlightens much more than Christianity.
Thanks for inviting me, but I'm not interested in your Facebook page, and I doubt that we have much in common. I think that leaving Mormonism to become Christian or a part of any other religion is just jumping out of the frying pan and into the fire. I am very happy to be free of all religious ideology now that I no longer outsource my thinking to an organization, group, or concept of "god".
I am happy to welcome you to the group. It seems that you are not currently living in the Sacramento Area. Although this group was intended to assist transitioning Mormons into functioning Christian believers in the Sacramento area, your insights and faith are welcome. That being said is there anything you are currently questioning or would like from the group.
Welcome to the group Heidi.
Hi Heidi, what a clever profile picture you posted here. I like that! How wonderful that God called you out of Mormonism. Who would you like us to pray for specifically among your friends and family still involved in it? Glad you're here!
