Let's get together to socialize with ex-New Yorkers and show others how smart we think we are.
I host pub trivia competitions around the city during the week, and the braintrust that organizes this ex-New Yorker group thought this would be a good event, since NYC is the center of the universe, and we know it all. We'll gather for drinks, food, and conversation, and then form up in a team(s) to trounce the non-New Yorkers. It's FREE to play, just pay for whatever you consume, plus there are also prizes for the best teams.
Competition begins at 7:30 or so, but get there as early as 6:30 to grab a bite, meet with others in the group, and gripe about the California food, flakers, and general lifestyle. We'll play as a team against the other teams that are there that evening. Six rounds of trivia on all sorts of topics that lasts just about two hours. If you can't stay the whole time, stay as long as you like. If the team gets too big (+10), we'll split into two teams.
Even if you're not a trivia whiz, don't worry; there will be plenty of opportunities to socialize with your team between questions or each round. Guaranteed fun or your money back!
I won't be playing, since I'm hosting the event, but it's always good to know the quizmaster, if you know what I mean, and I think you do. Look for Karen's "I Love NY" sign, or just find me and I'll direct you to the team. Close to downtown, just blocks from the Powell Street BART/Muni station, with plenty of street parking. Flaking is frowned upon, so sign up like you mean it. Here's the quiz site page:

Cheers, and we hope to see you Tuesday, October 23rd.
