Hey, it's not that bad. We're not talking Furka pass... 
And the road to the Kyburg is possibly steeper & longer than any hill on the way to the Schauenberg :-)

And I'm not fit or anything - I've only been on my bike 2x in the last 6 months.

I am keen, but for a first meet, this might be a bit too strenuous.
Schauenberg is 1hr ride not down but up the track :]  - me take surely
1.5 hrs
Maybe for starters discover Eschenberg, Schlatt and Kyburg - an easy
