"[masked] ja so stimmen wir alle ein. Mit dem Herz in der Hand und der Leidenschaft im Bein, werden wir Weltmeister sein!"

Hallo Leute,

Thank you all for a successful event on Sunday! We had almost 300 attend from four different Meetup groups and occupied both floors.

I've scheduled a new Meetup for the German Group so we can start planning for the next round.

Was: Weltmeister Spiel Deutschland gegen ? Brunch or Lunch?

Wann: Sonntag, 27 Juni 27,[masked] Uhr oder Samstag 26 Juni,[masked] Uhr

Tonic Sports Bar
727 7th Ave
New York City, NY

Come one and all and bring your German Soccer jerseys, friends and Gute Stimmung!

Mark your calendar, Germany vs. ? might be playing June 27th at 9:00am Eastern time, or if Germany is in the second position in the group the game will be on June 26th at 2:00pm.
If you want to watch the game at home it's on ESPN.

If this scenario happens and you all want to join our group to watch the game, please RSVP. Last time we had almost 300 attend. I don't think we will have that many for breakfast this time but it's hard tell without an RSVP list. Bring yourselves and friends and come early to get a good seat. Also keep in mind this event is louder than our regular Stammtisch events since it's a soccer game. If the hostess didn't let you up to the second floor on Sunday I apologize. A lot of people came by word of mouth at the last minute. Also a few people slipped in because we weren't checking people at the door. We don't have enough volunteers to help with that. If any of you want to help at the door I could really use some extra help to make sure that everyone is there from our group or friends of the group. I also spoke with the bar about the space and if we have a lot of people attending again, they will remove some of the tables to make the second floor more spacious. Please let me know asap if you have any specific song requests for the playlist so I can put the songs on my Ipod.

Other announcements:

I've published all of the Germany and USA games as notes on the German Language Meetup Calendar. Obviously most of us have to work during the games, however if you are looking for a place to go see the games the locations at the end of my email are showing all the games and are open for breakfast, all of these places have been really accommodating to our group over the years. The German places will have the best Stimmung for German fans but you should get there very early if you want a seat as they all reach capacity quickly. I recommended calling.

Many of you asked about upcoming events and I do have several scheduled, but I realized this morning I have different events posted on this Meetup and other events posted on the German Language Meetup. Please take a moment to become a member of both groups. Although I schedule most of the events, there are several other organizers planning some events in the future within both groups.

One last thing, check out the Message Boards when you get a chance. They are really helpful for anything not related to the events. For example sometimes when people move they try to sell their German books and CDs. Right now a member of our group is looking for a roommate and another member is trying to start a German darts team. Check it out from time to time you never know what you'll find.

Ich freue mich auf uns wiedersehen.

Bis dann oder irgendwann,
