JOIN US FOR BICYCLING FROM LOS ANGELES TO REDONDO BEACH
This bike ride is 34 mile round trip. It heads west on the Ballona Creek Bicycle Path from La Cienega and Jefferson Blvd. to Marina del Rey with several up and down sections going under bridges and turns south on the mostly flat Marvin Braude Beach Bicycle Path to Redondo Beach.
We invite all bike riders who are comfortable and experienced riding 34 miles round trip on the beach or other bicycle paths at 12 miles per hour.
This bicycle ride requires practice and endurance. I suggest you ride with the West Los Angeles Cycling Club Meetup group which can be found by CLICKING HERE for their Sunday beach bicycle rides for extra practice before this ride.
MEETING PLACE AND TIME:
We will meet at the southwest corner of La Cienega Blvd. and Jefferson Blvd. which is below the Metro stop on the Expo Line. If you ride the Metro with your bicycle to our starting point, you can check the schedule by CLICKING HERE but please allow extra time to arrive early to get ready.
We meet at 8:30 AM for introductions and depart promptly at 9:00 AM.
There is a parking structure at the La Cienega Blvd. and Jefferson Blvd. Expo Line Metro stop that has FREE PARKING.
We will celebrate Lobsterfest offering a steamed 1 1/4 pound Maine Lobster and corn on the cob for $17 at Quality Seafood Fish Market under Redondo Beach Pier. You may also want to try live sea urchin (Uni) which cost $12 per pound and other seafood dishes.
If you don't like seafood there are other food options available including vegetarian.
