Bring along your longest lenses and we'll look for sandhill cranes with the late afternoon sun as our backdrop. We will meet at the Consumnes River Preserve parking lot where we will start our watch for the sandhill cranes. We'll also have the option to visit another location on W. Woodbridge Rd.
If you are new to using long lenses or need a refresher on photographing wildlife, bring your questions and we will have a discussion in the parking lot at Consumnes.
GEAR: Telephoto lenses (wide angles for landscapes if you want), tripods, monopods.
Time for a Walkabout! So for those of you who have a weekday to goof off, here's a little incentive to get out there and practice your photographic skills. Every four weeks or so, we do a Photo Walkabout and visit a different location every month. Here's how it works... when you RSVP (and you must RSVP in order to vote and get the updates), you will submit an idea on where you might like to go and shoot for that month. Everyone will have a chance to vote on the submitted ideas via email. Then, after the voting closes, the TIME and LOCATION will be posted. It will be posted a few days before the meetup so that you all will know ahead of time where we will be going. Plan to have lunch with us and talk shop. The weather or the season could even dictate what we want to shoot. Either way, the plan shouldn't take us farther than an hour or so away in any given direction. Remember, this will repeat about every four weeks, so if you can't make it to one, do the next one! Remember, time and location to be determined!(10:00 a.m. is just a default setting). Sound interesting? Come along and find out!
