Embarcadero Walk and Bay Bridge Lights

Walking the Embarcadero can be a very interesting experience. Discover the new exterior of the Exploratorium or take in the sights of the Farmer's Market at the Ferry Building. The winter weather in San Francisco can actually be wonderful (got my fingers crossed!), so whether you are wanting to shoot people or architecture, details or landscapes, abstracts or B&W, there will be plenty of photographic material. A relaxed walk, ending up at the south side of the Ferry Building for a twilight shoot of the lights on the Bay Bridge. More details as we get closer to Jan. 18th.

Bart will be the best alternative for getting into the city (get off at the Embarcadero Station, about $10 round trip from Walnut Creek or Concord), or check out the parking garages here.

I enjoyed leisurely walking along the Embarcadero. Next time I'll have to spend more time taking pictures - lol. Had too much fun enjoying the company of everyone.

Andrea, sometimes I enjoy the place and people and don't worry about the photos and still have a lot of fun. Good visiting with you at dinner.

Hello I have posted my pictures and I'm so excited because I have been an "AUTO" queen and I shoot in "MANUAL" during my walk along the Embarcadero, so please provide corrective criticism so I can learn from these photos. I also learned how to shoot in RAW w/o JPG and OMG that was a tedious process when you have to view over 500 pictures BUT I did learn more about Photoshoot as I panic because I had never done that before!!

It was really a great day and the weather couldn't have been better. Thank you, Carl, for the great parking tip. It worked out perfect. We stopped on Treasure Island on the way home and got some great shots (maybe) of the new bridge span. I haven't looked at them yet.

Thanks Jan. I felt like the only actual group activity was at the very end, where everyone set up their cameras for a shot of the lights on the bay bridge. Otherwise it felt like a very solo activity. I wish there were more specific spots on the Embaradero with with specific times within the 2 first hours where we could have met up as a group.

Evan, what is the point of everyone shooting the same subject, at the same time, under the same conditions...it's usually better to browse around to different areas of a general location under different lighting conditions and later view the different perspectives captured during the event?

Hi everyone, I really did enjoy meetup other members of this group. I particularly enjoyed the actual 5 pm meetup of the group at Howard. I was only thinking maybe that we could have a photo opportunity spot at 4 pm also. Maybe for example: at the end of the Expiritium pier. By the photo I posted from this outting, I was most interested in colorful photo shots yesterday. Please no more comments.

Not going to make this one, but I'll actually be in the area attending an event. Anyhow, if you're driving in, the Golden Gateway Garage at 250 Clay Street is the best deal in the area. $7 flat rate for the whole day, but the *garage closes at 10 PM*.

Another option for parking is the the San Francisco Ferry located on the north end of Alameda. Parking is free and the fee to ride the ferry to San Francisco is nominal.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
