A very warm welcome to our Southerners Meetup Group !

Are you from the South, and find yourself missing the companionship of home-folks, the darned fun times that characters from the South have together, the hospitality and gracious manners, the bar-be-cue, mint juleps and pecan pie ?
Being Southern is a state of mind, and we find ourselves longing for the charm of the old South, and our way of life back home.

Come join-in to meet with other former Southerners, who love and miss the South, and who are now living in the Boston area ( and loving the charm of New England, too ! )

We will enjoy activities together such as Gospel Brunch at the "House of Blues," poker night, Southern food, reminiscing about the South and our good ole Southern culture and traditions. Have some icy-cold sweet tea and 'sit a spell' ( .... and by the way, has anybody figured out why yankees put sugar in cornbread ... ?! )

Feel free to offer suggestions for activities for the group .... a fishin' trip, a chili cookoff, a concert
( Mary Chapen Carpenter, Darius Rucker ), a movie night ( "O Brother, Where Art Thou ?", "Fried Green Tomatoes" ) .... whatever your little heart desires.

We sincerely hope that you will join-in, and that you will make new wonderful acquaintances, and have some delightful memories from your participation in this group.
