Beyond ASCII: the Art of Code, the Code of Art. This month, we have two speakers working at the intersection of code and art.

Speakers

Artsy (artsy.net)
Daniel Doubrovkine, Head of Engineering (Linkedin)

Artsy is an online platform for discovering, learning about, and collecting art. Their collection comprises 100,000+ artworks by 18,000+ artists from leading art fairs, galleries, museums, and art institutions.

According to Wired, Artsy "has the potential to introduce each buyer to a wide range of artists and artworks, all of them related in some way and—this is key—most of them unknown and otherwise inaccessible to any but the most knowledgeable connoisseurs."

Shimmeo (shimmeo.com)
Bjorn Roche, Co-Founder (Linkedin)

This is the world premier and first public demo of Shimmeo, a new app that automatically edits together a finished music video for the user, given a song and video footage.

Bjorn will discuss the inner workings of the app, as well as the technical and non-technical challenges the company faces, including music licensing, marketing, and branding.

GA gives us space each month, thanks! If there's a compelling reason though to hold it at Intent, let us know!
