The Getty and Ansel Adams

Once again, this is a weekday f/Stops photo excursion around the LA area. As always, it is designed to be an informal opportunity for photography as well as a chance to interact among our fellow photo enthusiasts.

The Getty Center is a fabulous place to flex your architectural photography muscles. Everywhere you look is a composition waiting to be captured. Add to that, an exhibition of Saint Ansel's work and you have the recipe for a very nice photo outing.

 Some Info:

There is a parking fee of $15 and the museum is free. Carpool and split the cost.

The museum opens at 10am. If you plan to arrive around that time you should be able to make it easily to the meeting spot by 10:30.

Walking is on level pavement and lawns. There are numerous stairs as well.

Go to http://www.getty.edu/museum/ for Getty info.

Remember this is the Museum in Westwood and NOT the Villa in Malibu.

I believe tripods and backpacks are discouraged. There is a backpack check up at the museum. Travel light if you can.

The cafeteria is very good. Have lunch up there.

Fabulous! Beautiful Day. Some of Ansel's most famous images were on display as well as how he interpreted them differently over the years.

Sun sets are a great photo opportunity for all of the interesting buildings and landscapes. I will see if I can make it later in the day.

That's OK. There might not be many of the group around by then. I'll probably still be there. Call my cel when you arrive.

Tripods & backpack specifics: "Flash photography, tripods, and monopods are not permitted. Any photography is for personal use only and may not be sold." - See more at: http://www.getty.edu/visit/center/plan/faqs.html#center_plan_faqs_coat_check

This sounds like a great trip (Ansel Adams), and I'm just getting into 'meet ups'. My attendance is still under consideration, so please don't wait up for me just because I commented :).

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
