I've had cameras since I was six years old and before that I was allowed to shoot the odd photo with my dad's twin lens reflex. Still, I'm not sure that makes me a photographer. My interest has been rising exponentially since digital became a viable alternative to film and usually my outings and trips are oriented around photography. I'm not sure that makes me a photographer either but it might make me an enthusiast. I suppose that would make me a "photo enthusiast" but maybe not a photographer... yet.
My favorite subjects is landscapesautomobilesarchitecture and everything else. The one notable exception is people. I'm rather notorious around my friends for taking a thousand photos of a trip and not getting a single shot of a traveling companion.
I think being around folks with a similar interest in photography can only broaden the experience. You can always gain an appreciation from other points of view and different senses of aesthetics. I might enjoy sharing the photo experience with other people and (Who knows?) I might even make a new friend or two.
I haven't given this much thought specific to this group but I happen to have a list of nearly 100 ideas (over half of which I've done).
Hello! My name is John Grusd. I joined F/Stops a couple of years ago. It's a good way to link up with like minded people and learn a lot along the way. More about me is on my blog at http://johnwhopho....
Nice people, from beginners to acomplished photographers.
