CCBC MIT Fab Lab Meetup Group,
The USA Science & Engineering Festival is this April 28 & 29, 2012 at the DC Convention Center. The festival is open to the general public and is a free event to attend.
WHO IS EXHIBITING?
We are! The Inventors Network of the Capital Area's (INCA) booth number is 2155. You’ll find it right in between MakerBot and the Baltimore Node booths. HacDC, Spark Fun, the UMBC Assistive Technology Center, Kinect Robot, Kronos Robotics, will be some of the other exhibitors very close to the INCA booth.
We'll have some patent attorneys and seasoned inventors at our booth so come ready with your questions. We’ll also be displaying information and brochures about the CCBC MIT Fab Lab. In addition to information on INCA I plan to have some 3D printers on display and printing.
DISPLAY YOUR INVENTION
We have two tables so there is lots of room to display inventions. Bring your invention to the show if you would like it to be displayed. You can ship it to me ahead too – if it’s not too big. Or bring it to our booth at the show – if it can be hand carried.
LOTS OF GREAT COMPANIES EXHIBITING
A bunch of really big science, biotech, and aerospace companies will also be exhibiting at this event. See http://www.usasciencefestival.org/2012festival/finale-expo/2012-exhibits for exhibitor information. See http://www.usasciencefestival.org/ for more general information.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED TO GREET GUESTS AT INCA’S BOOTH SATURDAY APRIL 28 AND SUNDAY APRIL 29
You can help greet visitors at the INCA booth on Saturday and Sunday. We can have up to 10 people at our booth at one time. Hours for our booth and the festival in general are 10:00 am to 6:00 pm Saturday and 10:00 am to 4:00 pm Sunday.
SUNDAY AFTERNOON APRIL 29 VOLUNTEER(S) NEEDED TO HELP INCA’S BOOTH MOVE OUT
Another volunteer who can help with taking down the INCA booth on Sunday April 29 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm would also be greatly appreciated.
GET THE WORD OUT ABOUT INCA, THE CCBC MIT FAB LAB, AND HAVE FUN VISITING THE EXPO
The 2011 festival had hundreds of thousands of visitors. So it’s a great way to get the word out about INCA and the CCBC MIT Fab Lab. The festival has many great exhibitors and is great for networking whether for career, inventing, or hobby. It’s an event you won’t want to miss.
Don’t forget, please let me know if you can help out at the INCA booth even for an hour/few hours.
