INCA Meeting Tonight Jan. 22, 2013 America Invents Act & Pro Bono Legal Service Explained

From: Glen K.
Sent on: Tuesday, January 22, 2013 11:08 AM

John Calvert of the US Patent & Trademark Office is tonight's INCA meeting speaker. Mr. Calvert will be speaking on the America Invents Act and also the USPTO's pro bono IP (intellectual property) legal services pilot programs.

Mr. Calvert's bio can be found at the following link. A short excerpt of the bio is below.

"John has responsibility of the Inventor Assistance Program, which includes inventor outreach and university outreach initiatives.  The USPTO has made outreach and education a high priority due to the increased interest in intellectual property both by business and education.  Mr. Calvert has expanded the Inventor Assistance Program to include educational initiatives for students, inventors and small businesses and has created inventor assistance through pro bono and pro se initiatives both inside the USPTO and through working with universities and bar organizations."

Thank you to our speaker and volunteers who are making tonight's meeting possible.
