Campisi Mockingbird Brunch Review --YELP 6/14

LOVE this place! We had the Sunday brunch buffet. My goodness, I have never seen such a fantastic buffet with a ton of good options. The eggs weren't runny like I usually see at buffets, and you can actually get breakfast and lunch all in one! Nothing wrong with having a waffle with fruit and syrup on the same plate as penne alfredo and pizza, right?

I'm glad I just read another review for this location and learned the story behind the Egyptian moniker. The restaurant prior to the Campisis owning it was called the Egyptian Lounge and the Campisis couldn't afford to change the sign when they took over. Fantastic! I guess it's just a thing they keep going now.

Back to the food: $1 mimosas during brunch. Magic. Fruit, four salads, cheese and meat tray, two pastas, massive meatballs (they looked amazing and made me wish I ate meat!), an omelette bar, waffles and pancakes, the list goes on! It's $15 for all you care to eat, and the wait staff brings over a new plate each time you come back with a plate full of food.

We will definitely be back!

The exhibition offers visitors an opportunity to examine, through Oscar de la Renta’s designs, the unique role of the First Lady as our country’s official hostess to world leaders and diplomats and as a trendsetter in style, fashion, and entertaining. Daywear and evening dresses worn by Laura Bush, Hillary Clinton, and Nancy Reagan are on display, as well as garments worn by members of First Families, including Jenna Bush's wedding dress.

My first time at the original Campisi's and it was so great. The food was good (especially the Italian Salad). Definitely a do over.

The GB center exhibit of Oscar was fascinating...very out there. A great way to spend a Sunday!

I really wanted to join you for this event, but my stomach kept me up most of the night. I'm exhausted and still dealing with it. Food sounds rather evil right now and I know I won't be good company. Have a wonderful time and I look forward to seeing photos of the exhibit.

Thanks, Roxanne. I asked my doc for something to help control my darned appetite. Darned if it isn't doing the job! I can't hardly eat for the nausea, heartburn, and bellyache I get from eating anything. The problem is it affects me the worst at night. Now I'm starving to death! Ha!
