Posters of Paris: Toulouse-Lautrec and His Contemporaries
October 14, 2012–January 20, 2013
Chilton Gallery II and Focus Gallery I

Beginning with the early designs of Jules Chéret—the “father of the poster”—the exhibition explores the earliest days of the affiche artistique (artistic poster) and its flowering in Paris, first under Chéret in the 1870s and 1880s, and then with a new generation of artists including Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Pierre Bonnard, and Edouard Vuillard, artists who brought the poster to new heights in the 1890s.
Posters of Paris: Toulouse-Lautrec and His Contemporaries examines the story of the French artistic poster in all its complexity. The show will highlight artists well known to the public—such as Toulouse-Lautrec, Alphonse Mucha, and Théophile-Alexandre Steinlin—as well as names less familiar but equally powerful in their impact.

Special Exhibition Admission: $14 or less every day

The special exhibition admission fee includes general admission and viewing the Museum’s collection galleries.

DMA members: FREE
Adults: $14

As we get closer to date and see how much interest I will add more details.

The exhibit was great. I hadn't seen it before...much larger collection then I expected. The gift show had a lot of interesting stuff but it was so crowded and by then I was anxious for my first trip to S & D Oyster Co

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
