I'm 64, live in Plano, and my 85 yr. mom lives with me. I work full time, but writing & digital art are my hobbies (wish I could earn my living with those!). Looking for older ladies to socialize with. Would love to bring my mom sometimes.
In the southeast corner of Plano, very close to Murphy.
Ok. I shall email them.
Yes. I uploaded a current photo for my profile.
May 5. All of Mexico celebrates my B-day. :)
Dining, movies, visiting. Some activities I can bring my mom to. She's on a walker and needs slow involvements, but some socializing would be good. However, if there are occasional interesting meetups on the weekend that involve a little walking (ie. museum or art gallery or that sort of thing) I would enjoy that opportunity just for myself, as well. Between work and caring for my mom, the house, yard, small dog and 3 cats by myself, I need to have some support connections just to keep me awake! I belong to 3 other meetup groups (Creative Jammers, DFW Indpendent Publishers, and DFW Tea Readers) so have to space when I can do things. Plus, I try to get in as much time as I can on my writing and art, so hours are squeezed. But it would be great to make some friends to chat with and visit with. Right now, the two of us live like nuns and I'd like to break that mode. Finally, just FYI, we live on a tight budget so will do best at less costly events, when possible. :)
I'm really enjoying the group. I don't get to do as much as I'd like to; finances and work schedule require me to be very selective about when I can join an event. But I've enjoyed every event I've been able to attend. Everyone is enthusiastic and friendly, and thanks to FFF I've discovered a few fun places I didn't previously know about. I've met people I hope to get to know better. A great group to join when you want to find friends to go out with.
Hi, Sherri I am doing a book signing at ARealBookStore at the villages at Fairview Sat June 2 at 2 PM. It is for my new novel, FLYING SOLO. Great true story about a 1960s New Orleans housewife that learned to fly a plane, then stole it! Also wine event at Times Ten Cellars July 28th 3 PM. Please rsvp to the wine event so it will post on here. It is under suggested. Thanks! You will LOVE the book. DFW word wine members get 20% off!
It was SO great to meet you Sherri. You're creative energy and can-do attitude are so inspiring to be around! I look forward to seeing you at the next jam! =)
whoops Sherri I meant! haha ;)
Hi Sherryi - welcome to Creative Jams! I'm so happy you joined us.. i can so relate to your struggle with making the most of your creations. I'm very inspired by everything that you are doing! Hope we see you out at an event very soon.
Howdy, Sherri! Marley & me enjoyed meeting you & Katie. Thanks for joining us for this hike & doggy brunch. Also, thanks for taking the time to post your feedback. Best wishes with your eBooks & graphic arts.
Welcome to our pack. Your profile is fascinating. Sherri is adorable. Unfortunately, dog parks aren't for every dog. Most folks aren't knowledgeable about good dog park etiquette. Besides, pack walks are more instinctually natural for dogs, being roamers by nature. However, I think dog parks are great for puppies and teens, especially when you schedule group play dates during the off hours when your pack can have the park to itself. Looking forward to meeting up with you two soon.
Sherri, I hope you and Katie will be able to join us tomorrow. Possibly just drop in for 10 minutes or so to let Katie slowly adjust to the other pups. Patti Brown
I took Jack to the Puppy and Advanced training classes at Petsmart. Those classes helped ALOT. Especially since he is my first dog so I had no idea of how to communicate with him.
