Facebook's Reshma Khilnani presented detailed explanation of Credits, the compelling reasons for developers to integrate them in their apps; all of the panelists engaged in provoking discussions of virtual payments, psychology of buying & selling virtual goods, etc. Joel Goodrich of Viroxoty Studios gave a compelling demo of Fashionista FaceOff, Vida Ha & Suchit Dash took us deep into their Ifeelgoods world. The crowd asked poignant questions about things like virtual economies, Facebook positioning & Credits roadmap to which the panelists painted an intriguing vision of a vibrant Facebook world where Credits plays a key role in growing & sustaining the ecosytstem. Mark Rose of Playspan compared the burgeoning adoption of virtual currency with the Wall Street proverb "A rising tide lifts all boats.” Digital Chocolate's Jason Loia gave excellent advice about how to thrive & prosper in the new economies. Watch John Lin's uStream & review the transcription - to be posted next week.

"2010 will be remembered as the year that games on social networks became a billion dollar business and transformed the way millions more people socialized with friends online. Where will social gaming go in 2011? How will existing players fare as Facebook shifts the social gaming landscape through the rollout of Facebook Credits and continued changes to the platform?" from Inside Virtual Goods: The Future of Social Gaming 2011

Check the FB Dev Forum for questions & issues about Credits --> like Zero-value credits, earning/granting/awarding credits/points/currency through game activity or promotions, incentive credits vs real credits, & redeeming credits.

"Facebook now sits squarely at the center of a fundamental realignment of capitalism" (from the Facebook Effect) - Facebook Credits may be a keystone to their monetization. How will Credits effect the ecosystem - especially the small developers ?
