Welcome, new Moms and Dads! Please check out our calendar and join us for a music class. If you belong to a Mom's Group and would like to have a class for your group, please contact Elizabeth and let her know!
Infants and children often respond to music by smiling, swaying, clapping, or singing. Music is a fun and engaging way to help children develop a wide range of physical, cognitive, social, and emotional skills.
Our classes are for children ages 0-3 years. If you have an older child that you would like to involve in music classes, please contact Elizabeth to discuss options.
We offer interactive classes that are structured to facilitate cooperation between the child and caregiver, in addition to group experiences. Classes include a regular opening (or "hello") and closing (or "goodbye") song, dancing and movement activities, individual and shared instrument playing, interactive sing-a-longs, song creation, call and response rhythm plays, and music games. Each class is 45 minutes long and offered on a drop-in basis.
Family Harmony classes use music and movement activities to facilitate the improvement of:
- Sensory integration
- Language and listening skills
- Memory
- Self confidence
- Emotional expression
- Social skills
- Ability to follow directions
- Sequencing
