Zed Cafe, run by Chef Bill Foster, is well known in the Richmond restaurant scene. With a focus on fresh, locally-sourced products, this is a restaurant where you can truly feast on Richmond!

We will be having a three-course prix fixe (fixed price) meal along with a half-bottle of wine per person for only $23.99 each. This really is a bargain culinarily speaking. To browse Zed Cafe's website as well as their menu (which includes the options for the prix fixe meal), go to: http://www.zedcafeonl.... You can also see links to recent reviews at: http://www.zedcafeonl....

Please note that the group limit is set to 20. Please keep in mind when you rsvp that restaurants often employ additional staff for the evening to accommodate us and when we have no shows and day of cancellations, we adversely affect their income and business as well as damaging our reputation with area restaurants. Please do not rsvp unless you are definitely planning to attend this event. If you find after you rsvp yes, that you will not be able to attend, please be sure to change your rsvp as soon as is possible to open it up for others who may want to go.

If the event is full and you would like to be on a waiting list for an opening, please make that comment in your No rsvp and I will change your rsvp to a yes if a space becomes available. I'll change rsvp's in the order of their no rsvp. It is your responsibility to keep your waiting list rsvp current.

The reservation is in the name of Lauren Ellington for 6:30 pm.

As always, I thoroughly enjoyed the company!
    •  Always enjoy the company of this group, but the meal was hit and miss. My first course (sweet potato soup) was a miss, the second course (hanger steak) was savory, but didn't leave a lasting impression, and the third course (chocolate mousse cake) was a hit, even though it was a brownie. Overall I may visit the restaurant again if I'm in the area.
    •  I loved my food. Tried new things I wouldn't usually eat.

The food and service we had at Zed Cafe is by no means representative of the wonderful group or food we have tried. Positives: the company and meeting new people. The great Spanish wine John shared with me. Negatives: Service and Food. The restaurant manager was not very accomodating. We had to ask multiple times if the tables could be put together. There were next to each other and there was no good reason why this could not be done. After mentioning again that we rate restaurants online, she agreed to sit us together. When we had issues with the food, there was no offer to replace it for something else. Accoustics were bad, hard to hear, even the people sitting in front of you. I had the sweet potato soup, which was very, very bland. The steak on wehani rice was ok (the rice was very greasy). I think instead of giving us the chocolate mouse cake, we were given the chocolate tort. There was nothing mousy about it. I live 3 minutes from this restaurant and I will not be back.
    •  Of course the company was the best part!! My meal was well thought out and well prepared. The combination of slight cheese grits and basil sauce was a great pair to my Mahi Mahi. The pound cake dessert was very dry, however, after a dowse of Sauturne it was fine. The wine from Spain made the dinner. I did mention everyones concerns to the kitchen, so they'll know for future reference. Again, great group!
