Title: So the Active Directory Team Won't Let UPS Update User Information

Presentation Description: Within large Federal environments, the Active Directory Team might not let the User Profile Service synchronize bi-directionally with Active Directory. Having the ability to securely maintain employee information that can be maintained and viewable by the appropriate people is critical! So how do we give the End-Users the ability to update their important information? We are going to go over synchronizing UPS to a SQL database using BCS, and how to give the End-User the ability to update their own information.

Title: Using Claims Based Authorization to Strengthen SharePoint Data Governance

Abstract:   Increasingly, sensitive information is being stored in Microsoft SharePoint, exposing enterprises to the risk of data breaches and regulatory issues. In addition, many organizations are experiencing rapid growth in SharePoint content, giving administrators an increasingly difficult task in controlling its flow and dissemination. Many SharePoint deployments are now beyond the point of using the traditional group membership methods to determine who should access sensitive data. Claims, or user attributes, provide a robust and innovative way of determining what level of access users should receive. In this session, discover how to use claims in SharePoint 2010 to go beyond authentication and make authorization decisions, streamline fine grained permissions management and implement strong data governance policies over your SharePoint content.
