Welcome to the Family

At its most basic, Femme Mafia is an Atlanta-based, progressive, edgy organization of self-identified Femmes open to all sexes and sexual orientations that seeks to foster connections between Femmes, reinforce Femme identity and provide members with the occasion to bask in their own fierce fabulousness and the fabulousness of others. Femme Mafia provides Femmes with a sense of community, a forum for the examination of Femme identities, and the ability to increase Femme visibility within the LGBTQ community in a positive and healthy manner. Femme Mafia strives to counteract the misconceptions and preconceived notions about Femme identities through community outreach, activism, philanthropy, and social events, in particular the misconception that Femmes are not active and vibrant members of the larger Queer community. Femme Mafia welcomes all self-identified Femmes and celebrates Femme diversity, because Femme identity is not restricted to any one demographic or any one concept of gender performance. Ultimately, the Femme Mafia exists to increase Femme visibility, contribute to the Queer community, and provide safe and supportive spaces in which Femmes can feel free to be themselves.
