About Femme Mafia

At its most basic, the Femme Mafia is an Atlanta-based, progressive, edgy organization of self-identified Femmes open to all genders and sexual orientations that seek to foster connections between Femmes, reinforce Femme identity and provide members with the occasion to bask in their own fierce fabulousness and the fabulousness of others. In a larger sense, it provides Femmes with a sense of community, a forum for the examination of Femme identities, and the ability to increase Femme visibility within the LGBTQ community in a positive and healthy manner. Femme Mafia strives to counter act the misconceptions and preconceived notions about Femme identities through community outreach, activism, philanthropy, and social events. At the same time, the organization puts heavy emphasis on what it is able to contribute to the Queer community at large. The concept of Femme is an umbrella under which all Femmes find solace, and is not bound by an exclusionary or restrictive predetermined formula. Bearing that in mind, the Femme Mafia is welcoming of all Femme identities.
