Today: Join us for a historic day at the AZ House of Representatives!

Join us in being acknowledged at the AZ House of Representatives!

Join Serah Blain and other members of the Secular Coalition for Arizona to be acknowledged in the gallery of the Arizona House of Representatives Tuesday afternoon. Another historic milestone you won't want to miss will take place while we are there. Then join us for a press conference on the House lawn at which an AZ legislator will come out as an atheist!

The focus of the press conference will be the importance of acknowledging and welcoming our non believing brothers and sisters in all sectors of government, and especially at the legislature where public policy is made. We want to make sure the legislature, the media, and the public at large know that there are more than 1.3 million Arizonans (one in five) that identify as atheist, agnostic or otherwise unaffiliated with any religious organization. And that we were not founded as a Christian nation, but as a secular democracy. That this distinction was part of the founding of our country to protect religious organizations and non believers alike.

Tuesday, 5/21/13 at 1:15pm at the AZ House of Representatives Gallery, 1700 W Washington Street.

Park in the lot off W. Washington at Wesley Bolin Plaza, just east of 17th Avenue. Or in the lot at W. Washington and 19th Ave.

Hats, water, and sunscreen are a good idea!
