Secular Coalition for Arizona’s Executive Director, Seráh Blain, will be touring the state this fall to engage voters in a discussion of the value of secular government and to encourage both the non-theistic community, and religious voters who recognize the importance of secularism, to make their voices heard at the polls this November. Blain is the country’s only professional lobbyist for a state-level nontheistic advocacy organization.
According to the Pew Religious Landscape Survey, Arizona has approximately 450,000 adults who identify as lacking a belief in God. Many of these nontheists participate in one or more of the 15 organizations represented by the Secular Coalition for Arizona. However others don’t even know there’s an organized movement or that atheists in our state have a full-time advocate at the Capitol. Please attend and learn the progress that has been made.
The town hall-style meetings sponsored by the Secular Coalition for Arizona will include an update on the state of secularism in Arizona along with a question and answer period, which will provide secular Arizonans an opportunity to interact directly with their lobbyist and provide input on future direction.
