Hi guys, I'm planning a trip to the Reagan Library in Simi Valley on Saturday, November 17 to see the "Treasures from the Walt Disney Archives" exhibit and I thought it might be great as a meetup. It's East Ventura County which should be OK for people in the San Fernando Valley or those from elsewhere who like Disney enough not to mind the long drive.
If you are a hardcore Disney fan, an art and animation afficionado, if costumes, movie props and film history are your thing, or if you just like Mickey, this is a must.
Admission is $21. The Library recommends purchasing timed entry tickets online in advance so let's schedule entry for 12:30PM. We can meet, snack and wait for others at the Reagan Country Cafe at 11 AM, no ticket required for the cafe.
Don't buy any tickets yet, let's wait for a good number of sign-ups first, we can adjust the time if necessary. I'm also checking how easy it is to buy tickets onsite.
Parking is free. We can go for coffee or dinner afterwards. Leave some comments, please. Thanks!
D23: The Official Disney Fan Club and the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Library are proud to announce D23 PRESENTS TREASURES OF THE WALT DISNEY ARCHIVES, coming to the Reagan Library in July of 2012.
At 12,000 square feet, this is the largest exhibition ever curated by the Walt Disney Archives and the largest temporary exhibit ever housed at the Reagan Library. From Oswald the Lucky Rabbit and Mickey Mouse to Captain Jack Sparrow and Captain America, the exhibition features more than 500 artifacts from nearly nine decades of Disney history – over 50% of which have never been seen by the public – including models, props, costumes, set pieces and artwork from throughout Disney history.
