TONIGHT at TULANE UNIVERSITY FREEMAN AUDITORIUM!!!! HD FILMMAKING EXPERTS
TO EDUCATE LOCALS ON CINEMA’S TRANSITION INTO THE DIGITAL AGE AT NOVAC
PANEL DISCUSSION IN SEPTEMBER

NEW ORLEANS, AUGUST 15, 2012 – NOVAC – New Orleans Video Access Center,
will offer Cinema
for a New Age: Going HD, an evening panel discussion designed to educate
filmmakers and film
lovers on cinema’s exciting transition into the digital age. Hosted by
Tulane University Department
of Communications, the event will take place at Tulane’s Freeman Auditorium
located at the
Woldenberg Art Center on the Newcomb Campus at 6:00 PM with a reception to
follow.
Panelists ranging from award-winning cinematographers and Hollywood data
management firms to
commercial and indie directors and a writer from American Cinematographer
Magazine, will discuss
how digital cinematography is not only changing how filmmakers make movies
but how we all watch
them.

“The impact of technology is an ongoing topic of discussion amongst artists
of all mediums,” insists
American Cinematographer Magazine’s and panel moderator, Iain Stasukevich.
“Oil or acrylic? The
pen or the printing press? Film or digital is just another facet of that
topic,” he says.
Cinema for a New Age: Going HD panelists, including Stasukevich will
address how this digital
transition has affected film budgeting, aesthetic choices, post-production
workflows, exhibition and
much more.

Moderator and panelists include: · Josh Diamond – Co-Founder of NY Based
Commercial Directing
and Cinematography Team, The Diamond Brothers · Jendra Jarnagin – NY Based
Award-Winning
Cinematographer and Digital Guru · Oden Roberts – Los Angeles Based

Cinematographer & Director · Iain Stasukevich (Moderator) – Writer for
American Cinematographer
Magazine · Lindsay Fox Co-Founder of Hollywood Data Management Firm, Trade

“Programming like Cinema for a New Age: Going HD is a mission match for us
as it directly impacts
the development of local independent filmmakers pursuing their own projects
and telling their own
stories,” says Ashley Charbonnet, NOVAC Director of Programs.

Cinema for a New Age: Going HD will be followed by a reception where
filmmakers and audience
members will have an opportunity to enjoy refreshments provided by the
Kupcake Factory and Pabst
Blue Ribbon, network and speak one on one with expert panelists. The
