Through our group format we can discover new techniques and opportunities for personal practice and spiritual growth. We do not follow any single discipline or belief system. All levels, spiritual paths, and meditation practitioners are welcome. We believe that each of us is teacher and student. Through sharing our experiences we learn from, and teach, one another. We do not belie …
Sahaja Meditation is meant for everyone who desires to find his or her true self, which is full of peace, joy of life and love for others. It is not just a book or a set of exercises but a living science that will open up to you gradually as your meditations become deeper and your experience stronger and more fulfilling. Sahaja Meditation was developed by Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi. It involves the awakening of a subtle spiritual energy known as the Kundalini which lies dormant in the sacrum bone, rolled up in a spiral of three-and-a-half coils. The gentle awakening of this Kundalini energy …

No matter how delicious we can try to make meditation sound in order to tempt you into meditating, this is a fruit that is meant to be eaten and not just described. In the end, it is not for anyone else but you yourself. Meditation removes the blindfold, the darkness that covers our eyes from the truth. Meditation generates the inner light that gives us vision to see just what is really happening around us. When you attain true bliss and happiness inside yourself through meditation, you will feel so overwhelmed with joy that you will not be able to adequately find words to describe it. No o …
Want to meditate but can't sit still? For most of us, the image of meditation is sitting still, doing nothing, and stopping the mind from thinking. This seems almost impossible! And yet we yearn to find relaxation, awareness, and self-acceptance - which is what the state of meditation is! That is why you will find both "active" and "passive" meditations being offered at the World of Meditation meetup group. With active meditations, instead of sitting still, you will experience a variety of activities that first help release mind/ body stresses, tensions, anxieties and inner chatter. …
This meditation technique is taught as a science and is practiced by people of many religions, faiths and belief systems. Within you is the "science lab" in which you conduct this "science experiment." The Science of Spirituality (S.O.S.) teaches a meditation process called Jyoti, or Light, Meditation. It's free and anyone can practice it. It should be noted, this is a voluntary meditation program. One stays in their social or religious traditions to practice this meditation. It needs to also be noted, this is a purely spiritual meditation technique. This means Jyoti Meditation is not taugh …

Sitting meditation is a wonderful practice. We find it helps us live more fully in each moment and see our inter-dependent nature more clearly. We have also found that practicing with a group can deepen and reinforce the experience. So we have decided to start a meditation group that will meet in our home every other Monday evening from 7pm to 8:30pm. Our first meeting will be Monday, October 12. We plan to begin by following a simple plan: 20 minutes of silent sitting meditation, followed by 10 minutes of walking meditation, followed by another 20 minutes of silent sitting. People ar …
