Hi. Is there any more availability for the work week overnights from Sat? I see that some have cancelled Sat night... I'm new to the sailing group but have prepped sailboats before.

    May 1, 2014

    • Mandi

Saturday night is FULL. No Available bunks. Sorry. There is a a group of gardeners sharing the cabin with the sailors.

Do you need help working on the boats just for the day on Sat.? Only from 9 to noon? I can join either way. Thank you.

    May 1, 2014

    • Mandi

You should bring whatever food you might want after Sunday lunch.

    • Mandi

Hey Jon, looks like everyone is going to be on the 11:10 ferry to atlantique & cabin will be locked up before that. So let's plan on taking that one instead of the 9:30.

    Hi Mandi,
could you please be specific about food?
Is there Sat lunch? Is there Sun dinner?
    Is there weekday: breakfast/lunch/dinner?
    Thanks.

    April 30, 2014

    • Mandi

Hi Hugo, I have been informed that meals will be provided Saturday lunch through Sunday lunch. No Sunday Dinner. Midweek guests must bring their own food. Also Anita has asked everyone to bring a sleeping bag or linens for their stay at the cabin.

Is there room on Sunday night?

    April 30, 2014

  • patricia B.

I don't think Paul or I got an email confirmation for Saturday thru Monday, but the meetup says we are going. I had said I would pick up food, but no one has contacted me. Can I assume that it is already covered. Should we bring all our own food or will some food be provided?

    April 29, 2014

    • John M.

Patricia, by the time you and Paul RSVP'd the weekend had already been filled, sorry I didn't catch that. I have closed the meet-up to RSVPs at this point so this won't happen to anyone else. Please feel free to contact me by email if you need further clarification: [masked].

I gave up. Apparently this activity is overbooked for beds and at the same time there will be no one there on Wednesday. My wish was to come for Tuesday and Wed to work since the only ferry is 10 in the am and I will be recovering from a work weekend(puppet show in Manhatttan). on Monday. if the midweek situation is otherwise, let me know, and I might try again.

    April 28, 2014

    • Mandi

Penny it is extremely unlikely that the midweek is full. Saturday night is full. I will check with the people doing the bunk reservations but I'm pretty sure just the weekend nights are full.

I am trying to sign up for Monday and Tuesday May 5 and 6 to reserve a bunk and food and fix up the boats. I have joined the Meetup to do this but it is not how I usually sign up to go to Fire Island, so I am confused. Penny

    • Mandi

Hi Penny, we set this meet up site up for sailing events. It helps us bring in new people! I will forward your reservation request on to John Maier and Anita. Those days and nights should be fine, so I think you can consider your reservation confirmed. I will let you know if that is not true.

  • Gerti

Hi Mandi, I am not 100% sure yet if I am able to make it on Saturday. Can I request a bunk for 1 night for now and update by Thursday? Tx, Gerti

    April 22, 2014

    • Mandi

      I'll text you

      April 24, 2014

  • Laura

I will be there Sunday only for the day.
How far of a walk is it from Dunewood?
earliest ferry leaves for Dunewood 11:10 AM.

    April 23, 2014

    • Mandi

Walk from Dunewood 20-30 minutes. I usually do that walk on the sidewalks going east until Atlantique Marina, walk past Marina on Bay side until you see AMC canoes & cabin.

A conflict in my schedule requires me to change to NO Stay over Sat night. I intend to get there Sat as early as the boat allows and leave on the latest boat Sat night. I assume I can easily walk from Ocean Beach Ferry to the cabin.

    April 24, 2014

    • Mandi

Yes, I have been informed about you just coming for the day. You can walk from Ocean beach, at a quick pace it's about 30 minutes. Walking on the ocean beach is the most direct. There is no sign on the ocean beach though there is a sign on Burma road for AMC property. I will try to post a GPS shot of location in this conversation. Thank you.

Hi Everyone, just want to remind all attending: this event is a boat work week. We are preparing sailing fleet for season, no sailing!

HI all..to re-introduce myself, I am new to your group. Sailed daily in summers as a kid...getting back into this and especially new adventures. I am looking forward to some fun labor and kicking off the "summer". I will be there saturday and leaving sunday afternoon.

    April 19, 2014

    • Mandi

Great Robert! Happy to have another experienced sailor. We will be sanding the bottoms of he sloops, cleaning & waxing the sunfish fleet and preparing all the boats for the summer season.

      April 19, 2014

  • Gerti

    April 17, 2014
