What an experience! Captain Mike leads a great crew of people who genuinely love sailing and are so dedicated that one comes away loving this sport and the sense of community. The amount of patience and perseverence all of the instructors showed us over three days helped all of us to see past our fears and get out there and go for it. It was a pleasure to meet such an engaging group of people and I'm looking forward to our paths crossing again soon. Thank you all for sharing your experience, enthusiasm and patience (lots and lots of patience)

This was a great experience. Something I wanted to do for a long time. The instructors were terrific. Capt Mike and his staff were enthusiastic and engouraged us to relax, learn and most of all have fun. it was money and time well spent. Mike, Ed, Dick,Rob & Alex answered questions and demonstrated anything I found difficult to understand. I am looking forward to the advance class to hone my skills. It was great to meet other people & discuss our life experiences & why we decided to learn how to sail. It was a relaxed atmosphere sitting on the beach & swimming in the ocean, kyacking or just hanging out. I flipped the sunfish three times and was able to get back a float without much trouble, I even made a save thanks to Ed's coaching. Mike told us Tues. morning that we would be sailing by Tues. afternoon. My thought was "you must be joking" there was so much info. to absorb I said to myself I'll never get this down. True to his word Capt. Mike had me sailing the sloop that afternoon.

This was a very wonderful experience for me and helped me make great progress in my goal to become a sailor. The instructors were excellent. All of the volunteer staff did a fantastic job and can't wait to come again next year. Thank you all so much for making this a very successful and memorable experience for me.

Lots of good fun and bonding with a great group who came from as far away as Virginia to sail with us. We had beautiful weather and light air that was fabulous for beginners. Many students made huge strides and had the joy of streaming along effortlessly with the wind.

I always marvel at the trust you show us, and the level of effort our instructor team makes to help you receive the gift of sailing. Hope to sail with all again soon!

Mid-week sail school is the bargain of the century. I'm sure sailing lessons with the great food and location would be thousands more. The people attending were really nice, the sailing teachers are very generous with their time and experience.

Is there anyone driving from Queens tomorrow who I could hitch a ride with?

When driving south on 5th ave (Bayshore) go all the way to end, enter Bayshore Marina. You can park there for $10 and catch 10 am or noon ferry direct to Atlantique daily. This is best and you can spend the $10 voucher at the restaurant by the ferry stop!

I'm planning to drive to the ferry. What do you recommend re parking?
I received no information about the FI cabin or the sailing school. Did I miss something? Sally

    Hi Lucie,
The AMC cabin is a few hundred yard walk thru the sand to the left. You can look for a colorful rack of kayaks and canoes. A bike is a bad idea. There a no real walkways in Atlantique. Just wall-to-wall sand. You will have to carry everything from the ferry to the house. I look forward to meeting you. Pat

so excited! Questions: 1. what happens if the weather's bad? 2. where do I go after I get off the ferry? 3. would bringing a bicycle be a good or bad idea?

Yes, all meals are included and wonderful! There is a separate refrigerator for members/guests, so you might want to bring your favorite snacks/beverages. Eager to hear what your experience is like!

It's an easy walk, maybe 20 min., but there is also a $4 shuttle van.
    Enjoy!
