Welcome to Santa Monica Coed Soccer Group (SMG)!

SMG, Santa Monica Coed Soccer Group, sponsored by FIFA.com (official web site of FIFA) aims at providing a very friendly environment for playing both very competitive and casual soccer games, while promoting high degree of decency, fair play, and regarding friendship, respect, and safety of the members above any game results.

More competitive activities of SMG is carried out under Santa Monica Firebird Football Club (SMFC), which has resulted in several league championships in Santa Monica Adult Soccer League in diffefrent capacities, including the coed and the women's leagues.

SMG is very unique for its special characteristics. It is a real coed group, meaning that a high percentage of its members are women, who actively participate in playing soccer in internal sessions and competitive leagues. There are no other group in the region even close to this level of women involvement in a coed set up. It is a very diverse group. Its members originally come from all continents in the world. This has been done by design and selection. SMG consists of very decent and friendly professionals with a variety of career backgrounds, and graduate or under graduate university students. It has been providing its uninterrupted services for more than 3 years, at times with 7 soccer sessions per week. It has arranged and promoted friendly scrimmages with other soccer teams/groups on a "home and away" basis, by traveling to other cities. It has provided a calm and friendly atmosphere for playing soccer casually, while at the same time, through its more competitive set up Santa Monica Firebird FC, has participated in soccer leagues and achieved multiple championships. Finally, it works toward community and humanitarian objectives such as promoting soccer for women in the community and helping underprivileged children to having the opportunity to play their desired beautiful game of soccer.
