Repeat of last fishing trip

There was a request to repeat our last fishing trip, weather was great and we caught our limit of vermilion snapper and caught many other fish including a Cobia 3” short of legal. Plan on doing some bottom fishing mixed with some trolling over the reefs for Cobia and Kings depending on how the fishing is going. Everyone remember to keep and eye out for Mahi Mahi as it is time for them to be in area. You may want a casting rod for the Mahi Mahi with something like 30lbs test. Sharpen you hooks and tie then knots tight as we want to start the new year of with a wonderful day out on the water.

Remember this is not a charter boat so do remember your saltwater fishing license, fishing rod with min. of 30lbs test and something to eat and drink. Normally would want something heavier but snapper and grouper are out of season. Normally I like 60lbs mono with 80lbs Fluorocarbon leader when bottom fishing for snapper. I find that unless you are replacing the last foot of line going to the hook your line is getting weaker with every bit thus I go up in test for the leader. If you are planning to bring your cellular phone you need to shut it off before we lose site of shore, otherwise the battery is going to need a recharge before we make it back to shore. Cost $50.00 to help cover the cost of fuel if you are coming on my boat otherwise free if going on your own boat. I’ll be verifying if everyone has a valid license.
PS: I may move this event back depending on the weather so, check you email if you are coming.
