Cool on the vsig lunch thing since it is open forum for adobe stuff I expect anything flash related is all good.  My only goal really was to provide the forum since based on the eamil that I responded to there was not going to be a meetup in bellevue any more.  In any case its all good :)

Running around in too many circles during the week to comment on this...

Obviously if anyone can take advantage of potential video session then that's great.  My personal schedule may be too crowded but will see later.   I am also open to co-hosting/piggybacking on event so that meetup people have some opportunity to do something.  Obviously this would depend some on what the topics of choice are, since this is a Flash group (not considering expanding it yet), but in general it may be one way to keep things moving a bit.

If I have time I may also try to pay the Seattle Flash user group a visit.  Members might want to take a peek at that as well regardless of official meetups.  It could be a useful resource even if this group ends up dying off (it's just not on the eastside)

In terms of a misc. upcoming item, I am very likely to be at PAX a month from now, though if it is anything like last year (or worse) it would probably be hard to meet up until later in the day unless you happened to be going to all the same panels.  I'm personally straddling a couple of interests there, but will have my eye open for casual/web/flash game discussions.

So guys, I've been following your group and this particular problem/thread I thought I would respond to as I might have a solution for you to consider.

I help run a UX Group that meets in Bellevue once a month.  The group is a designer developer group focused on helping designers and developer work together to build better User Experiences on any technology.  Our membership has growing to the point of needed to start a couple of more focused SIG's.  Since our membership is 60% designers we are starting a SIG for Adobe technologies.

In this case we want to have something called 'Lunch with Interact on Adobe' be a virtual SIG that on the first Wed of each month at lunch time will have a live conference people could dial into and watch online, where we have class or speakers on a number of topics related to the group.  say one month might walk designers through learning the basics of building a flash UI or on catalyst or whatever the group of wants.  The Interact board is willing to help as much as you like but if you guys want to run this as your own etc that is cool too or any thing in the middle.

We have a relationship with Adobe as well as numerous other firms and we have lots of speakers that can help but the goal would be to help people interested in Adobe technologies on Adobe as opposed to the larger group whose goal is to help designers and developers work together.  Our demo is students to professionals and we try to keep topics presented in such a way as to be relevant to everyone.

Anyway let me know if you guys are interested.

this sounds interesting.  i need the basic as well.  the previous incarnation of the group sounded
more a platform for the experienced developer, sort of a networking
group.    i'm on a mac, but for learning i don't think it makes a dif
the interfaces are pretty much mutually recognizable these days
where the meetup is held would make a dif to me.  i live in northern burbs and am
looking for something i can get to without too much hassle

Thanks Will!

I'm just starting out myself, but would love to learn the basics and
get an idea of what can be done, how much it takes to learn and how
useful it is for advancing a budding web designer's skill set.

I have Flash, but only on my home PC.  With no laptop yet, I'm not
sure what I could get out of meeting up, but would certainly give
round one a try and go from there.
